Joint Erasmus Staff Training Week
Jagiellonian University & University of Lodz
18-22 June 2018
It has become a tradition that every year the JU International Relations Office invites administrative officers from partner universities to discuss and foster new ideas on the development of international co-operation and other issues related to the international activities of universities. It is not much different this year; however this year the Staff Week is organized in cooperation with JU Department of Communications and Marketing and another Polish university – University of Lodz.
Together with colleagues from UL we are sharing the knowledge and best practices in international cooperation and international marketing and promotion of HEI’s with staff members form partner institutions from the European Union as well as those from outside of Europe which participate in the KA107 Erasmus+ Programme.
This year, on 18-22 June, JU and UL is going to host 29 representatives from 16 countries and 22 different universities. The participants of the training week represented various higher education institutions – nine from Europe: Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Portugal, Sweden and United Kingdom, as well as nine from non-European universities from China, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Korea, Morocco and Russia, which have signed inter-institutional agreements on co-operation with JU within the Erasmus+ Programme KA107. During following five days we are going to discuss and share experiences on international marketing and promotion of the universities in the world. We hope that their sharing will allow us to compare and better understand the needs and demands of students and academics from partner countries visiting our university as well as give us the idea how to further develop promotion’s activities of our universities.
The opening of Joint Staff Week will be held on 18 June 2018 in Collegium Maius. The Jagiellonian University authorities will be represented by prof. dr hab. Stanisław Kistryn, Vice-Rector for research and structural funds, who will welcome all participants in Kraków and at the Jagiellonian University.
Throughout the week, the guests of Joint Staff Week will have the opportunity to participate in numerous workshops and seminars conducted not only by JU staff but also by invited speakers from PROM Organization and representatives from other Polish organizations that are dealing with international promotion of HEI’s. A part from that on the third day of the week we will go to University of Lodz and spend two following days there. It will give all participants the opportunity to know not only one but two big Polish universities.
We have also planned cultural and social programme during which they will compete in small international teams during an International Pub Quiz – contest concerning the general knowledge of the world as well as Poland’s history and culture.
